Gaye Adams
|
Over the past 25 years, Gaye has enjoyed her artistic vision full time. In art school, she was heavily influenced by Edgar Degas, and began her career as a pastellist. It was her medium of choice for many years, and Gaye exploited fully the range of possibilities with the tactile immediacy of soft pastel. As time went on, Gaye developed interest in becoming a landscape painter, and began to explore other mediums such as acrylic and finally oils. Currently, Gaye is enjoying the exploration of painting oils directly from life with plein air and alla prima sudio studies. Throughout all her explorations, Gaye's love of the effects of light and the challenge of depicting them in paint have kept her fascinated; this is what is most evident and remains the prevalent element in most paintings. Gaye's work has been published in various art magazines, and her work has won awards at the national and international levels. She currently holds senior signature status with the Federation of Canadian Artists as well as the Master Pastellist designation from the Pastel Artists of Canada.
