Barbara Cadario fills her work with
magic and meditation.
The magic of sunlight playing on a leaf or a pool of water reminds us to be open to the magic that surrounds us. All the senses are engaged as the images invite us to float lightly in the crystal clear water, to savour the luscious fruit, or to reach out and caress the bark of a tree. Allegorical expressions of the abstract concepts of
tranquility, beauty, and the strength of the human spirit can be found by those who look closely.
Her creative process is an act of meditation. While painting, she relaxes completely and drifts in her mind far away from daily cares. This meditative quality is apparent in the calm brushwork and smooth surface of the paintings. Oil paint is the ideal medium for her work, allowing
contemplative application of brilliant and succulent colours.
The artist lives in the beautiful city of Vancouver, Canada. Her art training includes courses at the Ontario College of Art and the Emily Carr Institute of Art and Design, as well as workshops in Santa Barbara, California. She has exhibited her work in several juried shows at the Federation Gallery, Vancouver, Canada and also in Santa Barbara, California. Memberships include the Federation of Canadian Artists (Active Status), the Santa Barbara Art Association, and "21 Artists".
