*Lake Shore* 12 x 30" $1,295	Artist Statement I took my first private lesson at the age of six. In high school art was my major. From Dress Design and Vancouver Art Schools I became an Interior Designer. Six years ago I picked up a paint brush while living with constant pain as a result of an accident. Although my medium is acrylic the paintings are often mistaken for watercolour. My technique of using the paint, creates different impressions from very soft as seen in the translucency of petals and butterflies to the strong texture in the hide of elephants or the coat of a wolf. The broad range and the choice of delicate to dramatic colours, excite and encourage me to expand my subject matters. The paintings are portrayed on French water colour paper. With my background of interior designing I like to select images ranging from landscapes, animals, still life, people, floral and vehicles. From 9 x 12" to large murals. Despite living with pain each day; my goal is to bring joy, peace, comfort and happiness to the viewer.
