I was born in Ontario into a family of artists and was encouraged to paint and draw from a very young age. Later raised in Kelowna B.C., I had the privilege of attending private lessons with various local artists. From 1988 to 1990, I studied Fine Arts at Kwantlen College and then transferred to the University of British Columbia where I obtained a Bachelor’s of Science degree in Nursing. Over the years I have remained an active painter participating in local art groups, shows and workshops. I currently reside in White Rock B.C. with my husband and three daughters, and am a frequent visitor to Saltspring Island. My paintings are primarily done in acrylics and the subject matter is mostly figurative and landscapes. |

My background as a nurse has given me a sensitivity towards humanity that I hope to portray through my figurative and portrait paintings. I have a passion for studying nature and enjoy spending time in the garden. The colors, forms, light and the textures in nature inspire my landscape paintings. In our busy world, my goal is to give the viewer pause for reflection to appreciate the beauty of nature and humanity that surrounds us every day. |
