Croatian-born Marija Petricevic has been working as a professional artist and instructor in pastels, oil, charcoal and watercolour. Her subject matter is varied, but she enjoys portrait commissions. She has been elected senior Signature Member of the Canadian Institute of Portrait Artists (CIPA), Associate Member of the Federation of Canadian Artists (AFCA) and Signature Member of the Pastel Society of Canada (PSC).

Marija's professional art training includes art history, drawing and painting courses at the Alberta College of Art and the Faculty of Art at the University of Calgary; advertising and illustrating correspondence course at Art Instruction School, Minneapolis, USA; classes and workshops with renowned artists.

Her work can be found in private and public collections throughout Canada and internationally, and has been published in "The Best of Canadian Pastels" book, and in "Pastel Artists International", "International Artist", Calgary, Vancouver Life and Illustrator magazines. 

She has exhibited in galleries and many juried shows, and has received awards including being named finalist for Canada's "Immigrants of Distinction Awards 2000".

In addition to being part of the Federation of Canadian Artists' web site, Marija Petricevic is also part of the web site for the Canadian Institute of Portrait Artists (CIPA) and the FCA's Calgary Chapter site.
