The Gypsy's Paradise |
About the Artist An artist whose work consistently expresses a fascination with light and it's articulation of colour and pattern. Paintings include both representational and non-representational impressions taken from a rich backdrop of objective and subjective personal experience. Subject matter is not limited by any specific intellectual purpose or statement and remains true to a direct response to rhythmical patterns of light and the interactive nature of colour. Painting surfaces reflect Rick's love of the medium and creative process with brushwork that exemplifies a bold and direct approach. His paintings are developed with an interest in different formative processes using oils and watermedia. |

Passage Within |
Born in Vancouver, BC, Rick has a varied background in mechanical design/engineering and business development as well as fine art. These parallel careers have provided a wealth of inspiration and experience through international travel and fellowship. His extensive training through University and College short course programs and many artists workshops and participation in peer associations have honed his artist abilities to the extent that he is highly regarded as an instructor and mentor to emerging and established artists. |
