KATHY BEDARD, AFCA Kathy grew up in Vancouver, British Columbia and later attended the BC Institute of Technology, Western Washington University, and the Alberta College of Art where she studied nursing, psychology, and fine art. Now settled in BC and devoting her time to painting, Kathy works primarily in watercolour and acrylics. She is fascinated by light, especially the way it plays on the mountains and water of the British Columbia landscape, and enjoys the way its luminous quality can be rendered with repeated glazes of transparent paint. She is also attracted to shapes and repeating patterns and uses these in her paintings of children and flowers.
