LORNA DOCKSTADER, SFCA, PSC Lorna was born in Edmonton, Alberta and moved to Calgary in 1972. Her studies in art began in 1967 at the University of Alberta. Stylistically and perhaps spiritually, Lorna relates to the “neo-Canadian” style of painting. Her dedication to the Canadian landscape is accompanied by the use of harmonious design. Compositions are created through a fascinating fusion of simplified shapes, forms and colours. She works in a variety of mediums and styles, using oils, pastels, watercolors or acrylics. Her work has been shown both locally and nationally for the past ten years and she has been the recipient of numerous awards through juried exhibitions. She is a signature member of the Federation of Canadian Artists (AFCA) and The Pastel Society of Canada (PSC). She currently has representation in three commercial galleries and has recently been published in The Best of Canadian Pastels and Pastel Artist International. |
