JACK GRUNDLE, SFCA (Deceased)

JACK GRUNDLE, SFCA was born in Coleman, Alberta in 1922. He passed away February 22, 2004.

The family moved almost immediately to the B.C. coast, where he has lived ever since, except for four years with the R.C.A.F. in Great Britain and France from 1941 to 1945.

Soon after his discharge from the service, he spent two years at the Vancouver School of Art, then began his career in the commercial field, where  he eventually served as Art Director for two national advertising agencies. He had not yet reached his station. He then developed a successful wildlife magazine (Western Fish and Game), which he published, edited and illustrated the stories and covers. After 11 years he discovered his first love was still painting and moved to painting wildlife as a career. This lasted until all the fish and wildlife he ever encountered had been painted many times over, which led to his final move. He now roams the countryside and paints whatever he finds -- and it's more fun than ever.
