DANIEL IZZARD, SFCA (Deceased) DANIEL IZZARD, SFCA, has had over 25 "one-man" shows in the last twenty years and is represented in an impressive list of public, private and corporate collections all over the world. Born in England, he studied art in Messina, Sicily and London, but is largely self-taught. An impressionist in oils, Izzard works boldly, loosely and generously with both paint and feeling. He has been called the last of the true impressionists. This widely-travelled ex-Navy man finds inspiration everywhere, but nowhere more happily than in the atmospheric conditions of the British Columbia coast. He frequently travels alone by canoe to remote areas. Izzard’s waterfront and raincoast scenes strike a particularly responsive chord in the locals, and he now makes his home in West Vancouver. Izzard is a senior signature member of both the FCA and the Ontario Institute of Painters. |
