SHAWN A. JACKSON, AFCA

Born in Victoria, British Columbia, on June 17, 1952, Shawn was encouraged by her father, a landscape painter, to take up the challenge of painting at an early age. She studied Fine Arts at Douglas College in Surrey, B.C. and participated in seminars and workshops with the Federation of Canadian Artists in Vancouver. Working mainly in acrylic, Shawn's paintings evoke the feelings of the West Coast, its shores and islands, ponds and lakes. Children are sometimes portrayed in her work, often becoming part of the natural scenery. Shawn makes frequent trips to the Gulf Islands in search of material for her paintings as well as other destinations of inspiration, including the Okanagan and the Canadian Rockies. Shawn's paintings have entered many private and corporate collections including Cominco Ltd. and Fletcher Challenge Canada Ltd. Shawn A. Jackson is represented by a number of galleries in British Columbia and Alberta.
