DOROTHY OXBOROUGH, SFCA, PPC

Alberta born DOROTHY OXBOROUGH, SFCA, PPC studied at the Institute of Technology and Art in Calgary and the Vancouver School of Art. She has enjoyed a 50 year successful career as an award-winning pastel artist. Oxborough has been in great demand by the B.C. Government with commissions for "Year of the Child" and "First Canada Day". In 1983 her painting "We the Canadians" was presented to Canada’s Governor General Schreyer in Ottawa. She specializes in portraits, particularly the Canadian First Nations People and has attained some of the highest awards possible: in 1996 "Premier Pastellist of Canada" and the Gold Medal at the Annual Federation of Canadian Artist’s Signature Members’ Juried Exhibition. Oxborough’s wonderful pastels hang on some very prestigious walls - the B.C. and Nova Scotia Governments, the Maritime Museum, and the Calgary Bar Association.
