ALICE SALTIEL-MARSHALL, SFCA, ASA After establishing a career as a commercial artist in both Canada and England, ALICE SALTIEL-MARSHALL, SFCA moved to Banff, Alberta in 1972, and decided to return to her love of fine art and began painting full time. Married to a Park Ranger and living in national and provincial parks provided Saltiel with the opportunity to study wildlife and landscapes for her strong paintings, which are based on a sound drawing ability combined with colour and pattern. She works in both watercolours and oils, using the play of light and placement of shapes to create a feel for the subject. Her technical skill and attention to detail have made her work very popular, so much so that she established a very successful print and hasti-note business in Canmore, Alberta, where she now resides. Saltiels paintings have won awards in local and regional exhibitions and are displayed in galleries throughout Alberta. |
