Merrilee was born in Victoria, BC, but spent her childhood on the Northwest Coast of Vancouver Island. For twenty years, Merrilee worked full time as a Registered Nurse. The last twelve years of this time span were spent accumulating credits with the Emily Carr Part Time Studies Program. Print making was studied in Florence, Italy, and she attended the Ontario College of Art while living in Toronto for two years. Presently, Merrilee resides in Vancouver with her husband and young son, trying to balance painting and motherhood.
Watercolour remains her favourite media, but she also enjoys mixed media painting.
