WENDY THOMAS, SFCA, ASA is known for her bright colours and busy backgrounds, although there is peace beneath a flower petal or in the shadows of a figurine. As a teen, Thomas began illustrating children’s books in watercolour, then worked with acrylic, oil and egg tempera. Earning honours plus a scholarship for highest marks in the Alberta College of Art, the artist now paints full-time out of her studio, a former church in Didsbury, Alberta. While residing in Calgary, Thomas served as national liaison between the FCA regions. In addition to holding senior signature status with the FCA and the Alberta Society of Artists, Thomas is a member of the Western Group of Seven Artists.
