DENNIS WEBER, AFCA

Dennis Joseph Weber works out of his home studio in Kelowna, British Columbia and teaches weekly art classes and weekend workshops. Although his passion is portraiture, Dennis’ subjects also include animals and still-life. His references are from his photo-shoots of interesting people and beautiful objects or historic, public domain photographs. He also demonstrates his skill by using live models. His method of using many layers of paint creates a depth and luminosity in his paintings and his photo-realistic drawings are a result of layering and glazing with graphite. Born in Prince Albert, Saskatchewan in 1951, Dennis lived most of his life in Calgary before moving to the Okanagan Valley. His Métis heritage is a source of pride that is reflected in his art. He has now achieved accredited Signature status (Associate) in the Federation of Canadian Artists and is a Senior Member of the Canadian Institute of Portrait Artists. His works of art can be seen in collections throughout the world.
