Workshop Overiew

 

The purpose of this workshop series is to encourage artists to play more, paint more, and think less. Specific exercises will be throughout, along with group discussions, presentations and demos, and studies. A final piece may or may not be completed, depending on the participant’s path of exploration.

Topics include: reflection on own work thus far, reasons for creating, observing and interpreting, left brain and right brain, experimentation, exploration, imagination, process, curiosity, being present, gesture, touch, expression, emotion, allowing, and letting go.

 About the Instructor - Lalita Hamill

Lalita is a sought-after instructor who specializes in contemporary realism, especially of figures, still life and landscapes. She attended the Vancouver Academy of Art, where she studied traditional painting methods from classically trained instructors for four years.  While she specializes in oils, she is also proficient in acrylics, watercolour, and drawing media. She has over 30 years teaching experience, has a degree in Philosophy, and is a writer, musician, & facilitator.  Visit www.lalitahamill.com
