"Collage, with all the tangible textural qualities I so enjoy, has become my chosen medium. The suggestive qualities of colour, texture and pattern in paper allow me to ‘build’ my paintings, giving me spontaneous expression and the free interplay between form and colour."
KEN PRESCOTT, SFCA achieves his effects by applying acrylic polymer paints onto paper, using almost any means and tools to create the result he is seeking. Painted papers start out on the studio floor and are later "assembled", with textures suggesting the subject. Vivid and strong, Prescott’s subjects continuously reveal both physical and emotional feelings. After attending Danforth Technical School in Toronto, he became a graphic designer, then gradually a full-time artist. Now a Vancouverite, he continues to produce fine artwork, easily recognized as his own. A past-president of the FCA, Prescott served as project co-ordinator for the present FCA Gallery.
