Description:
A house is not just a home, it’s the community you live in. Regardless of the type of housing, a home is about establishing connections with neighbours, therefore, the homes clustered together in this piece represent the simplicity of engaging with neighbours to create a place of security and belonging, where people stick together and look out for one another.
Notes:
Just an FYI...For the past 3 years, our family has run a fundraiser to address homelessness in our community. Penticton's postal code starts with V2A which is the name of the fundraiser. If you don't have a postal code, then you likely don't have a permanent residence. So, we make small houses out of recycled building materials or clay and sell them at Christmas with all proceeds to the Salvation Army. Through these sales, we’ve raised over $7000 in the past three years. We are grateful for the support that is shown to our homeless community.
