Description:
Being part of a neighbourhood gives us a comfortable sense of belonging and security. Someone who is of “no fixed address” does not have a permanent place to live as represented by the dark house, therefore, as a community, we need to unite, be open-minded, be accepting and look for solutions to address the problems of homelessness and poverty.
Notes:
Just an FYI...For the past 3 years, our family has run a fundraiser to address homelessness in our community. Penticton's postal code starts with V2A which is the name of the fundraiser. If you don't have a postal code, then you likely don't have a permanent residence. So, we make small houses out of recycled building materials or clay and sell them at Christmas with all proceeds to the Salvation Army, raising over $7000 in the past three years. We are grateful for the support that is shown to our homeless community.
