I"m known as a colourist as my work is usually representational using vibrant colours either in acrylic or alcohol inks. This painting is part of a series I did and is very much a departure from my usual method for me as I used only black. I did this by using 99% alcohol as the medium,moving the alcohol ink with air and pulling the ink apart to reveal the pigments making up the ink and thus creating interesting greys.With the spontaneous nature of using the ink this way, it lent itself to creating abstract landscapes.
