Description:
This piece is one of a series of
Six paintings.

The intention of this work was to go beyond conventional use of acrylic paints by shifting its application process.

Rethinking the paint itself.
- deconstructing
- reconstructing

Using only acrylic paint, without the aid of paper or fabric. I allowed the paint to have form and an undulating physical surface where, the art emerges through its
reconstruction process.

This execution and process was done by pouring five foot lengths of gold paint on a flat surface, then leaving it to dry.

The drying process would take upwards of a week.
Once the paint was dry, it was carefully extracted from its flat surface.

The dried poured gold paint pieces were then attached to the canvas, layer upon layer.

The stretching and manipulation of the dried paint, gives the appearance of a flowing moving surface, letting the recycled paint texture be the subject of the once wet paint.
Location:
This piece will not be included in the physical exhibition on Granville Island but meets the quality standards of the FCA and is classified as, "Recognized Artwork."
