This technique aims to represent the subject among its surrounding as a holistic complete scene. I’m constantly looking for the shapes and forms, and for the light and dark, with which I can bring harmony into a painting. While travelling throughout the Cariboo region, I was studying the shapes of historic gold rush and ranch buildings, which inspired in me the idea for this painting. The combination of an aged subject depicted with modern materials and style complements the theme of the subject’s holistic depiction.

This piece will not be included in the physical exhibition on Granville Island but meets the quality standards of the FCA and is classified as, "Recognized Artwork."
