The Canadian Shield, its rocky terrain are the bones, the foundations of the earth. Too often, we drive by without looking or giving the landscape they inhabit a second glance. They are there, almost unseen, exposed and raw. Quiet and solemn. With a blanket of snow, the craggy outcrop rose majestically, dancing before my eyes. Selecting the essential features, applying vibrant, contrasting colours reveals the essence of what this land is.
