Watercolour on paper
Description:
A self portrait on the western edge. I will never forget the first time that I hiked the West Coast Trail; scaling impossible networks of ladders, quietly witnessing ancient forest, sleeping on the beach under millions of stars, and running like a trackstar to avoid curious bears. ⁣The best times of my life have been self-propelled, self-reliant...and outdoors. When we move through the environment in this way, we do it as a whisper, leaving no trace behind...and this is one of the reasons that I choose to paint in watercolours and natural pigments on paper. Long after I am gone, and one day long in the future when this work fades away, the paper and the pigment will return to the earth, and the frame and glass will similarly return to the wood and stone of their origins, right here where the water meets the sandstone shelf.
Location:
This piece will not be included in the physical exhibition on Granville Island but meets the quality standards of the FCA and is classified as, "Recognized Artwork."
