An enigmatic shape shape loosely defines a building high on the horizon of this canvas, the sky stands out , an interesting negative shape. The building, appears to dissolve like an apparition into the foreground of intersecting shapes of space. A sense of impermanence and the passage of time. I began this piece with loose gestures of black gesso layed on with large pallet knives, thin paint was floated over this and various layers of thick and thin paint with texture and brush work defining areas and interest.
