Nina Koba is a Vancouver-based artist from Ukraine. Working primarily in oil on canvas, she explores themes of memory, absence, and belonging through scenes of old and abandoned architecture, expansive skies, and intricate floral compositions. Her work often draws on personal history — including the image of an abandoned house left behind in her home country — and transforms these subjects into poetic spaces that speak to loss, nostalgia, and resilience. Whether portraying weathered buildings or delicate blooms, her paintings capture fleeting moments with emotional depth and timeless beauty. Her work has been exhibited in Canada, Mexico, Paris, and the United States, and continues to resonate with audiences for its ability to merge intimate narrative with universal emotion.
