The Federation Gallery's May Artist Window Feature is Larry Tillyer. "My interest as an artist has always been colour, light and emotion. Impressionism is my favorite style of painting and I like specifically the way they handled colour and the way they understood and explained light. Vincent Van Gogh, Henri Matisse, Sorolla, Monet, Renoir and Sargent have all had an influence on my art. My picture "Two by the Sea" makes the use of light to show the joy of the children at the beach. Also the sea is very much in keeping with impressionist brush strokes and creativity as painting is a unique creation of art:'
Larry Tillyer may have passed away recently, yet his artistic legacy lives on through the heartfelt dedication of his wife, Merete, who generously shares his cherished paintings and talent with the FCA.
The Federation graciously recognizes the generosity of Stafford Plant, leaving us a meaningful Legacy Gift containing hundreds of paintings for sale from his oeuvre. The FCA is honoured by his contribution to Canada’s art history and our organization.
