In this course, you will learn how to paint realistic landscapes and seascapes in watercolour that capture the light and atmosphere of the natural environment. James will demonstrate how to break this often difficult medium down into manageable steps, applying clean washes and confident brushstrokes.

PLAYING WITH ABSTRACTION IN MIXED MEDIA STILL LIFE WITH LINDA BELL, SFCA Saturday and Sunday, March 18th-19th 10.00 AM - 4.00 PM Federation Academy on Granville Island Members $290 | Non-Members $340 This workshop is suitable for artists who are comfortable and familiar with acrylics and who are excited about moving towards abstraction and playing with a variety of materials. Demonstrations will be interspersed throughout the workshop followed by time to practice and ask questions.

It is said that we should know ourselves and there is no better way of challenging our skills than with a self portrait. Through instruction, demonstration, and lots of individualized teaching David will cover composition, colour mixing, proportions of the head and observation.

Javid's work explores a variety of genres, including rural and urban landscapes, still life and abstraction. In his two day workshop participants will learn how to paint vibrant and dynamic urban landscapes and still lifes. REFUND & CANCELLATION POLICY:
Withdrawal from a workshop may be done until 4 weeks prior to the program start date to receive a full refund (minus a deposit IF the program expressly states that it has a non-refundable deposit). No refunds will be allowed after this cut-off. After this date you may transfer your registration to another student. The FCA reserves the right to change or cancel any of its educational programs. If we cancel a course, a full refund will be given to all registrants. In the event the instructor is unavailable, either an alternate instructor with similar credentials or a make-up workshop may be arranged.
