About the 2020 Social Distancing Exhibition:

 

We know, you’re stuck at home.

 

While many are stocking up on household essentials, artists are worried about running out of gesso.

 

In the hopes of bringing some joy back to our current situation, the Federation is asking you to submit works created during your period of social distancing.

 

Artworks can be of any subject, size or style. Preference for awards will be given to artworks that best exemplify or communicate beauty, joy and/or humour to our jury panel.

Annual International Mail-In Art Exhibition (AIMAE)

 IMPORTANT COVID19 UPDATES FOR PARTICIPATING ARTISTS

 

In light of the COVID19 pandemic, all exhibitions have been put online until further notice. This exhibition is a little different so please read the following information carefully.

 

If you submit to this exhibition and are successful,

you will be required to deliver your artwork to the gallery.

 

It is our intention, that when the Federation Gallery in Vancouver re-opens to the public to launch with this exhibition. 

 

Submissions and jurying will go ahead as normal, in accordance with the dates outlined in the call booklet schedule.

 

Artists will be asked to deliver their artwork during the delivery window as stated in the call booklet. We will carefully store the pieces until we know when we can re-open to the public. 

 

The online exhibition and sales functionality will launch in line with the original exhibition dates on May 25th and remain "live" until and throughout the physical exhibition display.

 

Once we are given permission, we will frame the artworks on site and install the exhibition.

 

We will also announce the opening reception details and end of exhibition dates and collection window.

 

 

About the 2020 Annual International Mail-In Art Exhibtion Exhibition (AIMAE):

Share your stories! The 2020 theme for the Annual International Art Exhibition (AIMAE) is; “story”. Hosted by the Federation of Canadian Artists, AIMAE is a solution for artists looking to exhibit in Vancouver, Canada from all over the world. You submit artwork no larger than 8” x 10” and mail it flat in an envelope to our gallery, we frame it, display it and aim to sell it - on your behalf!

 

Please read the accompanying Submission Call Booklet carefully (click button below). This submission has specific criteria in regards to accepted sizes, media and presentation.

Painting on the Edge

 About the 2020 Painting on the Edge Exhibition (POTE): 

Painting on the Edge is an annual challenge for artists worldwide to push their boundaries, test their media and engage their audiences through dynamic subject matter, innovative media application and progressive stylistic approaches. Artists are encouraged to try something different in their practice or communicate deeper messages and emotions in their pieces.

 

This exhibition is generously supported by OPUS Art Supplies.

 About the 2020 LIMITLESS Online Exhibition and Competition:

In the spirit of artists supporting artists, this entirely online exhibition and competition awards experienced artists while supporting emerging ones through the creation of a bursary.

For submitting artists, $1,000 in cash prizes are up for grabs as well as feature in a month-long online exhibition at artists.ca and federationgallery.com

 About the 2020 Annual International Representational Exhibition (AIRE):

The Annual International Representational Exhibition, hosted by the Federation of Canadian Artists in Vancouver, Canada is an international juried competition in representational artistic excellence. Cash prizes are awarded for the top three artists and each exhibiting artist is also featured in a print exhibition catalogue.

Bella! - Sculpture Intake

 About The 2020 Bella! Exhibition:

 

***ATTENTION: TWO-DIMENSIONAL MEDIA ARTISTS SUBMIT SEPARATELY BY CLICKING HERE***

 

Sculptors are charged $15 for one submission which includes four slots to upload front-facing, side facing and rear-facing photographs of their sculptures.

 

Further submissions thereafter are $15 for four more slots for the next artwork.

 

Up to three pieces per sculptor can be submitted. If successful at jury a minimum of one artwork per artist will display at the exhibition.

 

The Federation of Canadian Artists is pleased to present an exhibition guest curated by Angela Clarke of the Italian Cultural Centre of Vancouver. This exhibition is a celebration of all things beautiful and finding the beauty in all things. Think exquisite still life pieces, breathtaking models, charming rural scenes, and luxe abstracts.

Ten Squared

About The 2020 Ten Squared Exhibition:

 

All artists living in Canada are invited to submit artworks on a substrate that is exactly 10” x 10” and at least 1 ½” thick, in any style, featuring any subject they like.

 

Entries are $10 per piece and artists can submit up to ten artworks. There is no maximum price restriction on submissions this year and all sales are shared 50% / 50% between artist and the Federation.

 

Pieces are reviewed and gently screened for commercial viability based on the Federation’s recent sales history. If successful at screening, all ten artworks may be selected for display.
