Whispers Beneath
Artist:
Nikita Raveendran
Size:
16" x 20"
Medium:
Resin on Canvas
Description:
Whispers Beneath invites the viewer to look beyond the surface and discover the movement and beauty hidden within water. Rich blues and flowing greens move across the sculpted form, while luminous silver reflections emerge through the translucent layers, creating the impression of sunlight filtering through water.
Created through hand-sculpting, mold-making, and layered resin casting, the piece captures water not as a fixed image, but as something constantly shifting. Each ripple and contour reveals a different relationship between colour, depth, and light.
As illumination moves across the surface, reflections appear and disappear, bringing different details forward and allowing the sculpture to change with its surroundings. The deeper tones draw the eye inward, creating a sense of looking beneath the water’s surface and into a world that is not immediately visible.
Whispers Beneath is an invitation to slow down, look closer, and discover what reveals itself beneath the surface.
