While hiking in the forest, I was surprised by the warmth of the shadows and the stillness. The only sound was my boots hitting the fresh snow. When I stopped, cool air was still. Looking off the path, the forest drew me eyes deeper. I wondered what animals slept this quite forest, waiting for springs awaking.
