Description:
This painting began with the sunflower in the bottom left and progressed to the red winged black bird. I worked my way up to the top left sunflower and roved around the canvas fitting in blossoms and leaves as the space dictated. Creating a composition as you go without any pre-planning brings interesting challenges.
