My paintings focus on the personal journey, melancholy, and isolation of humans. My subjects are symbolic. Human figures are painted without recognizable features to define them.
By relying solely on the starkness of a subject against a vast background, I hope to engage the viewer in a conversation to find a relationship between my symbolic images and their own journey. I am exploring the relationship between connection and separation, between the individual self and our complex existence, and all the choices we make.
As somebody said wisely: “Reaching destination must be preceded by a journey”, I see us, humans “travel” on Earth, leaving the imprint of our existence and a long shadow following the direction we choose.
