Location:
Water is my Muse. In the late fall the temperatures in the Canadian Rockies cool down and the water levels drop. With the reduced water flow the sediments settle, resulting in spectacular colors and greater clarity in all the bodies of water. Depicted in this painting is a segment of Athabasca Falls (Jasper National Park) featuring a small pool with unveiled quartzite sandstone and limestone formations otherwise obscured for much of the year by the powerful curtain of water cascading over them and carving them over time.
