Like the Joni Mitchell song this painting is named after, I wanted to create a piece that evokes deep, rich thoughts and, to a certain degree, a duality. The beauty of youth, strong contrast and deep saturation belies the soft wisps of hair and the slightest of smiles.
This piece is a bit of a jump from my usual portraits but i felt the subject matter required it.
