This painting was the first and reason why I created my on-going currency series. I wanted to share the unique, meaningful, ever changing and in some cases rarity of Canada's coins. Researching these iconic everyday items, they became more and more interesting, giving me a great sense of Canadian pride. Pride I wanted to share by producing info cards "Notes of Interest" my "Who knew?" coin facts with the viewer. For example; The "penny" was 1st. minted in 1920 thru till 2013. The commemorative series coin produced for Canada's 100th year of confederation 1867-1967, by mistake produced a third dot
