Early in March I went exploring with my son and little grandson, who was captivated by last year’s cattails, now ready to shed their fluff at the slightest motion. As it turned out, that was the last visit before social distance became necessary. Ludic is a word I learned this winter: characterized by spontaneous and undirected playfulness.
