It would seem a rare circumstance for scale to be cast aside in a representational painting, but such is the case in “Turquoise Pool, Kennedy River”. There is little relational reference between objects, which normally might feel quite unsettling as our brain habitually tries to make sense of a scene. Yet ironically, this lack of reference seems benign.
