The burnished and rusty colours of late summer inspired this abstract work as part of my Nature Squared series. With many vignettes to bring the viewer in closer, it is full of light and energy. The crinkled and deep patina of the painting are a result of multiple layers and textures using a variety of unique tools. As with so many things, the dahlia, with all its pigments and variations, looks even more radiant with time.
