Our artistic roots are steeped in history. We owe a debt of gratitude to previous genres for their foundational teachings of composition, balance and beauty. Inspired by a Still Life by Gerard van Spaendonck (Dutch 18/19th Century), this work incorporates flora from my neighbourhood at the beginning of spring.
