Vancouver's North Shore forests provide a never ending source of inspiration for much of my work. This painting tries to capture that dynamic sense of moving through the forest and looking up at the canopy. I posted this painting on Instagram, chrissterryart and asked people to suggest a title. I had lots of responses and finally selected "Wind Song". One follower was inspired to quote e.e. cummings "A wind has blown the rain away and blown the sky away and all the leaves away, and the trees stand....". I love the way this speaks to the strength of trees to endure. That strength is something I try to express in all of my forest paintings.
