As a landscape painter regularly painting iconic views, I enjoy seeking out the unexpected. The idea for this painting came from photos I took at Lake Louise early one October afternoon and then photos taken in my garden the next day just before our first snowfall. As I looked at the last of my flowers I saw a creamy white rose turning pink as it faded against the dark brown weathered fence.
