The inspiration for this painting, began with a night of owl sightings. Not one, nor two, but three sightings was had.
This miraculous Barn Owl, came right towards us and then was gone!
The moon was full, over the water and I wanted to depict the power I felt, yet the curiousity of such a creature.
Working in my new process of mixed media laying in inks,washes of acrylics, allowing the fludity of each to play well with each other.
Drawing in parts of the form, painting in the rest gave this painting brilliant colour and composition.
My hope is you enjoy it as much as I do.
