Description:
This ceramic sculpture reflects on transformation through fragmentation and reassembly. A hollow, abstracted figure anchors the piece, revealing twisting internal forms within its torso. Scattered around it—an earlier version of man, a detached face, and fractured patterned shards—each element stands alone yet is unified by the richly textured, glazed base. The two heads are suspended , one on wire and the other on a pillar, are interchangeable.
The sculpture suggests that even in disconnection, there is the potential for wholeness, evoking the resilience found in rebuilding the self from separate, broken parts.
As in all my works I rely on an element of unpredictability. The pieces for this work were created separately and only came together with the creation of the textured ceramic base. with its swirling, organic patterns it serves as a unifying ground, gathering these broken forms into a single, cohesive composition.
