Contemplating a forest pool, I was in awe of the myriad of reflections . I looked to express an abstract impression, a glimpse of this floating world, a sense of the illusion dissolving into space. I began with loose gestures of black gesso then floated thin layers of paint working back and forth in many layers using brushwork to define areas or specific shapes.
