Driving the Trans Canada Superior route I had always hoped to get back into the rising, undulating hills, the Boreal forests that cover that rugged landscape, to get close to the rocky outcrops, the rushing rivers and streams that empty out into Lake Superior. The rugged Algoma archipelago is spectacular in autumn dress. Trees dressed in brilliant reds, oranges, yellows intermingled with deep greens, blues of spruce and pine were magnificent. Selecting the essential features, applying vibrant, contrasting colours reveals the essence of what this land is. Rugged. Commanding. Dramatic. Exquisite. A place where heaven and earth meet.
