Description:
Welcome to Sah yeh yeen (Texada Island).
The Tla’amin people occupied this land since time immemorial.
In 1791 the Spanish named the island Texada, after a Spanish naval officer and explorer.
This painting is about the view that I enjoyed while camping on the west side of Texada Island, looking out over Mouat Bay and The Salish Sea toward Vancouver Island. Camping there was peaceful.
