The Reach: expansive washes of black juxtaposing layers of disturbed paint, line and raw splashes.
It’s safe to say that we often find ourselves attempting to “maintain” a certain level of comfort in our lives. The “Reach” series is dedicated to exploring restraint, using a limited palette, washes, inks, acrylic paint and mark-making which would extend beyond the scope of what I know to work. I’ve traded comfort with the opportunity to stretch myself into feeling the discomfort of using black and to explore depth, translucency, dark & light, large or expansive fields of colour with flickers of light or
