The Tree of Life is a well-known motif in various mythologies and cultures and could refer to a life-giving tree and a symbol of eternal life. Two peacocks are at the bottom of the tree. In history and traditions, the peacock is considered an emblem of nobility, watchfulness, renewal, guardian. It is believed that a peacock (often a pair of peacocks) stands guard at the entrance to the Gates of Paradise.
This painting is inspired and based on elements common for Kalamkari, a type of hand-painted textile produced in some parts of India and Iran.
